U.S. Presidents at Washington National Cathedral

Event image

Join us for a one hour tour of the Cathedral which explores the way Cathedral art honors these great presidents, their lives and their values.

Washington National Cathedral abounds with symbols and stories in its sculpture, stained glass and needlework relating to Presidents of the United States.

The Cathedral is the site of the tomb of Woodrow Wilson, the only President of the United States buried in the District of Columbia. In addition to the Wilson Bay, which contains the Wilson Tomb, the Washington and Lincoln Bays highlight these great presidents and their values through its iconography.

The Cathedral has also been the site of the funerals of four presidents: Woodrow Wilson, Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford.

This tour is recommended for ages 10+

Fee: $5 per person. No reservations necessary. Meet at the information desk immediately inside the main doors.

Parking at the Cathedral

Parking in the Cathedral’s underground garage is free on Sundays for services and organ recitals; parking for concerts and programs is available for an event-parking fee. Learn more about parking options for individuals and groups.
