Christmas Passes

Thank you for your interest in attending Christmas services at Washington National Cathedral. Passes are required for the 6 pm Festival Holy Eucharist and the 10 pm Festival Holy Eucharist on December 24.

Due to popular demand, we have received an overwhelming number of requests for passes to the Christmas Eve services at Washington National Cathedral. We are sorry that there are no more passes available for advance distribution.

Although written requests are no longer being accepted, there is still a very good chance of obtaining stand-by passes on Christmas Eve.

Stand-by passes will be available at the Episcopal Church House on the grounds of Washington National Cathedral approximately 30 minutes before each service. Distribution of these passes is made on a space-available basis. Seats in the Cathedral will be held until approximately 15 minutes before the serve. At that time all unoccupied seats will be made available to those waiting without advance passes.

The Cathedral will close after the noon Eucharist for service preparations and reopen at 5 pm for the 6 pm service. After the 6pm service, the Cathedral will close until reopening at 9 pm for the 10 pm service.

6 pm Festival Holy Eucharist:The Right Rev. John Bryson Chane, bishop of Washington, will preach and Cathedral Dean Samuel T. Lloyd III will preside; the Choir of Men and Boys will sing.

10 pm Festival Holy Eucharist: Cathedral Dean Samuel T. Lloyd III, will preach and the Right Rev. John Bryson Chane, bishop of Washington, will preside; the Choir of Men and Boys will sing.
