Almighty God, whose love never ceases, we gather today as a grateful nation. We are grateful for the rich array of races, colors, religions and cultures which comprise this beautiful mosaic of democracy we call America. You have called us into life together and made us a light of liberty, of justice and prosperity among the nations of the world; you have made us a sign of hope, beckoning hearts from every land. At times we have been slow to celebrate our diversity and to embrace justice for all. Yet we keep striving with grateful hearts to be the people of hope you have called us to be. Continued... |
