Rev. Theodore F. Scheider, Bishop of the Metropolitan Washington DC Synod, His Eminence Theodore Cardinal McCarrick, Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington and the Rt. Rev. John Bryson Chane, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington will participate in this annual service to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification between the Catholic Church and Lutheran World Federation. The Reformation was a religious revolution that took place in Western Europe in the 16th century. It arose from objections to doctrines and practices in the medieval church and ultimately led to the freedom of dissent.
