Medieval Workshop

Located in the crypt, the Cathedral Medieval Workshop is a hands-on learning center where families and small groups can explore the crafts used to build a Gothic cathedral; work on an anvil, carve a piece of limestone, create a clay gargoyle or grotesque, illuminate a manuscript, make a miniature brass rubbing, and build a stone arch while learning about the life and culture of the Middle Ages. Saturday, 10 am – 2 pm. Appropriate for ages 5+. Fee:$5. Reservations required for groups of more than ten. Information: (202) 537-2934.
