The Last Judgment (North Rose), 1933

Artist: Lawrence B. Saint

In the center multifoil is the life-sized figure of Christ seated upon the throne of judgment. At the top of the window is the gate of heaven described in the Book of Revelation with the tree of life bearing twelve manner of fruits. Contrasting, at the bottom of the window, is a lake of fire representing hell.

The petals emanating from the center of the rose portray, at the top of the window, the parables of the wise virgins as opposed to the parables of the foolish, below. At the upper left is a house built upon rock, while at the lower right is a house built upon sand being rent asunder by the storm. In one of the multifoils at the lower right may be seen a man with a millstone about his neck being cast into the sea. — Jewels of Light
