The Last Supper, limestone carving designed by
Frohman, Robb & Little and sculptor W. F. Ross Co. (St. Johns
Chapel reredos).
The gospel writers tell of many events between what we celebrate on Palm
Sunday (or Passion Sunday) and the events remembered on Maundy Thursday:
the cleansing of the Temple; another parable, the question about taxes,
and prophecies. Our pilgrimage continues in St. Johns Chapel with the
Indiana limestone reredos. Directly behind the altar is carved the Last
Supper, with the twelve disciples spread out in a row behind the table.
Jesus at the center is joined by the disciple-whom-he-loved immediately
at his side.
